Help Jack to have a place to learn
Inaugural Year Opening
We would like to welcome you to become a part of something very special for the special needs children and youth in South Carolina, USA and introduce you to the Beautiful Gate Center, a South Carolina non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization.
The Beautiful Gate is one of the first ABA Development Learning - Day Treatment centers for children and youth with Developmental Disabilities and Autistm Spectrum Disorders in South Carolina offering a year round program.
There are many families and special needs children who are struggling to find a school, or place where their children can go to learn, a place that is not typical, but Special, because of its unique environment and type of programming interventions made available.
Special needs children in public school environments also lack basic life skills and communication and will never bring home a piece of homework for years to demonstrate their learning. Many leave high school will little or no literacy.
Jack is one of thousands that have also experienced difficulty in public school environments for many years and requires a special place to learn with individualized instruction and be amoung his peers.
Many families, like ours, also have to act as medical case managers and therapy coordinators to maintain the level of care their child requires. This may result in hundreds of trips every year to therapy clinics or having therapists in their homes. Trying to coordinate care among multiple therapists, clinics, doctors and the child's school IEP team is not only time consuming and exhausting, but challenging for the child to make progress.
The Beautiful Gate Center is raising money to open its first Developmental Learning Center in the Charleston area in January of 2018 so we hope this campaign will help us raise the funds before this time. This campaign will remain open from Jan. 1, 2017 to Dec 31, 2018.
All funds raised for this campaign will be used to equip the building, the staff and the program with the items needed to operate the program. We need to purchase items such as 6-8 computers, 8-10 augmentative communication devices, 2-3 smartboards, outdoor recreational equipment, classroom supplies, soft surface seating, appliances, assessment kits, furniture, tables & chairs, security systems, 5-6 ipads, office supplies, software and much more. We also need to construct a sensory gym with equipment which is estimated to coast around $25k.
The Beautiful Gate program will not only help Jack and many of his friends, but it will help to build the foundation and infrastructure to help many, many more families in South Carolina, and in our local community, who are without options for educating their special needs child and struggle to provide the level of therapy required in the years to come.
The Beautiful Gate Center will offer multiple types of therapy such as Speech and Language with Augmentative Communication Technologies, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Occupational, Hippotherapy all of which are interwoven with individualized learning plans to enable progress for the children.
We would be truly grateful for any amount of donation to equip our new center. The children and youth with special needs in South Carolina need this center and it would mean the world to them if you would join our efforts and walk through the gates together to improve their overall Quality of life.
Thank you for reading about our need and for considering our organization.
This program would be ideal for my oldest son Ricky. He is 13 now...I pray you can get the facility open before he is too old to attend. He is currently homeschooled because I don't trust the public schools to teach him and know they can't meet his needs. Praying for you all and hoping this year brings you so much closer to opening and providing these much needed services. Thank you so much for all your efforts!
