Help Athelia Remove Her Tumor

Donation protected
This is Athelia she is now 20 months old and was born with a rare Vascular malformation on her leg. She has been in and out of the hospital since birth. Children's Mercy has been working on her case since she was just days old. Because of the rarity of her case she has had multiple procedures to try and get rid of this but all treatments have failed and the tumor continues to grow at a rapid rate. Although it may look just like a cosmetic deformity it is much more than that. This is very painful for her as is the procedures she has already endured
. The vascular anomaly breaks open and bleeds alot, and her quality of life has been put in jeopardy due to the risk of bleeding. What may be a scratch to most could actually cause her to lose mass amounts of blood in a short period of time due to the fact it does not clot properly and the abnormal amount of blood vessels in her tumor. The doctors thought the tumor would stop growing but it has tripled in size since birth and her ability to walk properly has now become a problem, and her leg is now growing faster than her other leg.
After much research and the help of Children's Mercy Hospital we have found a doctor in the United states that has decided to take on her surgery which has been a blessing from God! There are only 2 locations in the United states that are actually trained to take on this risky procedure of removing this mass from her leg. One in Boston and one in New York. After months of waiting for an answer Dr. WANER, who is the lead doctor at the Vascular Anomaly Institute in New York, contacted us with the wonderful news that he CAN remove this and she can live a normal happy life!! This was the news we've been waiting for! Unfortunately this involves a 2 week stay in New York. Though we do have insurance it does not cover the surgery  or the cost of transportation, lodging (Ronald McDonald house is closed for renovations ), food and the essential needs of a family of four not to mention a loss of 4 weeks worth of income. Unfortunately we do not have the funds to take this trip.
To come this far and finally have a solution is a blessing and a curse, so that is why I am asking for help. Please help us get to New York so my baby girl can get the treatment she needs. Once the funds are raised a link will be set up so you all can fallow her journey step by step. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
