My Story….
Back in 2002, after the birth of my youngest son, I was diagnosed with a rare, life threatening blood disorder called Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP). TTP causes blood clots to form in small blood vessels, which leads to a low platelet count. When platelets are low, you are in danger of bleeding to death. Upon being diagnosed with TTP, my platelet count was 7, a very dangerous number. A normal platelet count is 150,000 - 400,000. This low count caused my major organs to begin to shut down. I was hospitalized and underwent 30 days of plasma exchange. The plasma exchange process consisted of being hooked up to a machine for several hours a day to cleanse the blood, similar to a dialysis treatment. Over the years, I’ve had 4-5 relapses of TTP, resulting in a total hip replacement in 2015.
In 2016, I suffered several heart attacks and in March 2018, I had a stroke, both resulting from a 5mm mass on my heart. Several doctors at multiple hospitals have suggested that I have open-heart surgery to remove the mass and replace it with a metal plate. However, given my TTP history, there are risks with having the surgery. Therefore I have elected to go to the Top Hospital in the nation for treatment, which is out of state. At this time, the doctors are unsure how long the treatment will be. For me, it is critical that I have my husband and sons with me for support during this difficult time.
Because of this, I’m asking for your prayers and financial support to help me reach my goal of $10,000. Your donation will assist with out-of-pocket medical expenses, lodging, transportation, food, and other incidentals.
In spite of it all, I still trust God. God is still in total control and has the final say. By Faith, I AM walking in my healing.
