Final year PhD

Donation protected
As many of you may know, my name is Anna Fry and I am a second year PhD student at the University of Huddersfield.
Ever since I can remember I had wanted to study psychology but personal circumstances meant, that when I left school, there was absolutely no possibility of attending university.  I started working for an electrical engineering firm and worked my way up the ladder in a variety of engineering roles (electrical, building services, mining, structural and finally civil engineering) to Senior Technician.
I joined the Samaritans as a volunteer and decided to study counselling whilst working full time.  During this time I volunteered for a Women's centre as a counsellor and Cruse Bereavement Care as a bereavement support worker and supervisor.
At this point in my engineering career, I was a senior Technician designing roads but looking for opportunities to change career and follow my passion.  Then the financial crash happened!  Highways projects were put on hold ,and many people were made redundant.  I was working on contract and needless to say, my contract was ended.
I took the opportunity to make my dreams come true and undertook a psychology degree at the university of Huddersfield.  I achieved a first class honours degree afterwhich I obtained a fee waiver scholarship and part bursary to study for a PhD.  I recently won first place at the University of Huddersfield post graduate researcher festival for a presentation of my pilot study and will be published in an ebook.  (I will post a link once it becomes available)
Over the past four and a half years I have done part time jobs from stacking shelves to cleaning hospital wards to teaching and store planning and most recently, I am about to be working a few hours a week as a cattery assistant.  However, I am determined to make my PhD the best that it can possibly be.  I want it to mean something, not just to me but also to my participants and the wider LGB+ (Lesbian, gay and bisexual) community.  Working part time makes it very difficult to concentrate fully on my PhD.  Financial concerns cause me quite a bit of stress which also distracts me from the work I love and the work that I feel is crucial to start conversations around a very sensitive topic.
The money raised will fund the final year of my PhD which is fast approaching and assist with funding the final part of my second year, when I will be carrying out the bulk of my field work.
I will be eternally grateful for any assitance, no matter how big or how small and all donations will be acknowledged in my dissertation.
Also, in order to maintain my sanity and to say thank you, I will enter as many charity runs as physically possible and give a percentage of my donations to charity.  I will also offer free counselling of an hour a week to someone who I feel requires assistance immediately, can't afford it and who would otherwise be on a long waiting list.
Thank you in advance, I won't let you down :o)
