Angie's Legacy Fund
Angelina's dream was to provide the best life she could for her 3 beloved children, Quantance, Robyn, and little Jaden. Unfortunately, her husband cut her young life short in a murder-suicide and left her children without parents, but we can help carry on her legacy by ensuring that her children will have the means to afford an education. Please help us give to her children something that meant so much to Angie: a future. Thank you.
The money raised from this fund will go into a trust fund for the three children to help them pay for any education after high school.
In addition to the money raised here, there is also money that has been raised from shirt sales which will also go into the trust fund. So far, $1,809.92 has been raised from shirt sales. You can order the shirts here:
Here are some news articles about what happened (the children are safe with their family now):
Initially, we thought we could make a trust fund for the children that was specifically for the children's education but as time went on, we realized how difficult and costly it would be to make a separate trust fund and to also pay a trustee to look after it. We wanted everyone's donations to stretch as far as they could for these children. The Superior Court of Arizona had already set up an irrevocable trust for the children and appointed a trustee to look after it. All the money that was raised has been sent to that trust. I am attaching a digital receipt for the deposit made to the irrevocable trust.
None of this could have been done without the donors and everyone who cared enough to share this cause. It's amazing how a community came together for Angie's kids and I just wish she could have witnessed it for herself.
I have good news and bad news.
The bad news is that the children have all been in foster care since the end of May. I won't go into specifics about how all that happened but the good news is that there is someone petitioning for custody so if everything goes well, they will have a new home.
The good news is I have been in contact with the Conservator appointed to the children by the Court of Arizona. They have been keeping me updated on what is going on and I will be working with them to get the trust fund for the children's education completed. It will be a long process though so bear with me. I feel a lot more confident doing the trust through someone appointed by the state to look after the children's estate. This ensures things will be done right and it also will avoid me from having to pay anyone to do it.
The other good news is that we are about to reach $17,000 dollars raised just from the GoFundMe alone. There have already been two successful shirt campaigns that have raised $1,809.92 and there are two more going on right now. I will update you on how much money has been raised by the current shirt campaigns once they end in a couple days.
Thank you again for supporting this fund,
I wanted to update you on the progress of the fund. Although this is not reflected in the GoFundMe page's tally of how much money has been raised, there has been an additional $1,809.92 raised so far from t-shirt sales on the two Teespring campaigns started for the kids. The shirts are still selling so the number is only getting bigger. As you know, all the money raised on GoFundMe and Teespring will go to the children in order to continue their education after high school.
I also wanted to give a shout out to Shoeresh Coppage and Emelyne Museaux for being my partners in this.
First, I want to thank Shoeresh Coppage and Emelyne Museaux who have worked with me on getting this fund started and are currently working with me on getting this made into a legal trust fund. We are working with a lawyer to get this done soon and will update you when it is finalized.
I also want to thank everyone who has written a blog post about the fund and shared the fund on social media. The support has helped us raise thousands of dollars.
It is so touching to see how many people really cared about Angelina Latice Collier and how many people have donated even though they did not personally get to know her while she was with us. I cannot wait for her kids to feel all this love and support.
Thank you again,
Angie was a wonderful person to speak with, and had a personality full of life and love. She will be missed dearly. Requiescat en pace, amica.
I didn't know here personally, but from what I am understanding she was truly a wonderful person. Situations like this deeply sadden me. Hopefully this fund will at least help with the children.
I miss our chats and comments. Angie was a smart, funny, caring person. I loved hearing of the antics of her 3 beautiful children. They were clearly the most important thing in her life. Her updates usually made me smile. You are missed.
I belonged to the same Facebook group as Angie, and was lucky enough to have gotten to know such a beautiful, big hearted, and intelligent woman. She was an amazing mother, friend, and person. The fact that such a beautiful life was cut short hurts, more than words could really explain. But, her legacy will continue to live on through her 3 beautiful children, and through all the lives she touched, both in life and death. Rest easy, beautiful lady. You will forever be missed.
Angie was a member of a group I belong to on Facebook, she had so much life ahead of her, this fund is something that group will continue to drive forward after this fund raiser is over, we cared about her, and her situation. And now, we will help her kids, achieve what their rightful future holds. We miss her. Thanks everyone for taking the time to donate and help these kids out.
Angelina is gone... but her indelible impression is still felt. We made a promise: Angelina will never be forgotten, nor her children and legacy. Thank you to all who have committed to making this vision a reality
She's going to be missed. Very much so.
I am honored and humbled to have known her.
What a tragedy! Rest in Peace Angie. Thoughts and prayers for your babies.
