CuddleCot in memory of Andromeda

Andromeda's Story
On Friday January 12th 2018 after work I took my other daughter, McKenzie to her swimming lessons. As time passed, I started experiencing contractions that were gradually increasing in intensity. Finally at 2:50 am, my f iancé Mike and I went to the Maternity ER. I was examined and at 4:01 am and was told everything was okay and that I should go home. While at home my contractions only grew stronger and we returned to the hospital around 6:15 am. A nurse entered my room and handed me a gown to put on and, at almost that exact moment my water broke and my daughter was born at 6:46 am Jan 13,2018, my daughter was only 22 weeks and 1 day gestational. While they were preparing the baby Mike managed to record a minute video of her trying to breath. As he looked at her he thought of the Andromeda Galaxy, so we named her Andromeda. The state of New Mexico will not try and save a baby unless he or she 23 weeks and 5 days gestational and my sweet girl missed that window by 1 week and 4 days. Andromeda was born at Lovelace Women ’ s Hospital in Albuquerque NM. Our time together was brief. Babies often show rapid physical changes during death. We had only two hours with Andromeda before her heart stopped and only a brief time after to say good bye to our angel. Not enough time. All we needed was time, time to say goodbye, time to absorb what was happening and time to try and make any memories that we could, as this would be our goodbyes forever. The hospital contacted a lovely lady named Realene from NILMDTS (Now I Lay me Down to Sleep) and she took some lasting photos of our daughter for us that we will always cherish. The people at Flexmort have developed a CuddleCot that would give grieving parents and families more time with their children. This allows families to capture memories and have time to say goodbye and help them during their grieving process.
Working with Madison's Miracles we want our to use tragedy to help other families by placing CuddleCots in as many hospitals as possible. We hope that other families can have what we did not, more precious time for memories, bonding and promoting healthy closure.
The CuddleCot ™ Project system cools the baby allowing the baby to remain with the family, thereby providing the family more time. The CuddleCot ™ cooling pad is placed in any Moses basket, crib, pram or bed. It is connected by a specially insulated hose and is quietly cooled using the CuddleCot ™ cooling unit. The CuddleCot ™ system comes in its own carry case with different size cooling pads for premature and full term babies. The benefits of using the CuddleCot ™ system is helping a family deal with bereavement. This has been widely accepted across the world and used in hospitals in The United States, Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. ™ United ™
