Hello everyone,
My name is Andres Perez, and I have a beautiful family with my wife and twin babies. I have Cystic Fibrosis, and have been battling this disease since I was born. The last few years have been pretty rough on my health. I've been in and out of the hospital frequently due to reccurring lung infections. As I look at my children growing so quickly, it only reminds me that I want to get better to be around to watch them grow and teach them things only a dad can teach their kids. In speaking with my doctors, they thought it would be best if I started to prepare myself for an intense bilateral lung transplant. Currently, I am being evaluated by the wonderful doctors at Duke Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, and though I am a bit early for the next step, every cold I catch, every infection I get, brings me closer to that major step. Although I do have insurance, I would still have to cover expenses for medicines, copays, and coinsurances; in addition to paying the usual bills such as the mortgage, groceries, baby needs (times 2), and all the other living expenses. All this while I recover from the surgery. This process will not be done in Florida so our families living expenses will be doubled (once again). So please help me raise this money to keep my wife and children secure and my worries minimized a bit while I go through this tough process. Again, I am doing this for me as much as I am doing it for my children. I want to experience taking my kids to soccer practices and enjoy every milestone of their life with them. Mi nombre es Andrés Pérez, y tengo una hermosa familia con mi esposa y mis bebés gemelos. Tengo Fibrosis Quística, y he tenido esta enfermedad desde que nací. Los últimos años han sido bastante dificil en mi salud. He estado entrando y saliendo del hospital con frecuencia debido a infecciones pulmonares que son recurrente. Cuando miro a mis hijos creciendo tan rápido, sólo me recuerda que yo quiero mejorarme para estar vivo para verlos crecer y enseñarles cosas que sólo un papá puede enseñar a sus hijos. Al hablar con mis médicos, pensaron que sería mejor si yo empiecé a prepararme para una intensa trasplante pulmonar bilateral. Actualmente, me estan evaluado los maravillosos médicos del Hospital de Duke en Durham, Carolina del Norte, y aunque estoy un poco temprano para el siguiente paso, cada gripa, cada infección que cojo, me lleva más cerca a ese gran paso. Por suerte tengo seguro, pero todavía tendría que cubrir los gastos de medicamentos, copagos, y coseguros; además de pagar las facturas habituales, tales como la hipoteca, comida, y cosas que los bebés necesitan (por 2), y todos los demás gastos de vida. Todo esto mientras que me recupere de la cirugía. Este proceso no sera hecho en la Florida, entonses los gastos de nuestra familia sera doble (una vez más). Así que por favor ayuden si pueden.
Este dinero ayudar a mi esposa e hijos, y mis preocupaciones minimizado mientras yo paso por este proceso difícil. Una vez más, estoy haciendo esto por mí pero tambien lo hago por mis hijos. Quiero disfrutar a mis hijos, llevando los a practicas de fútbol y disfrutar cada momento de su vida con ellos. Quiero darle las gracias por su tiempo y por mirar en mi historia.
