Andre Family Santa Rosa Fire Relief

The Andre Family Santa Rosa Fire Relief Fund

My friend/Dear Handmade Life staff member Angie Andre, her husband Rich and their four kids lost their house, a car and EVERYTHING they owned in the Santa Rosa fires. They lived in the Coffey Park neighborhood that was totally destroyed.

The fire ripped through their neighborhood so quickly that they weren’t properly evacuated. Luckily Angie woke up when she smelled smoke. She and her family (and dogs) were in the car within 10 minutes of waking up. They left so much behind because they thought they’d be able to go back. No one realized the extent of the fire at that point. But within an hour their house (and street) were completely gone.

Angie is one of the kindest people I know. She is also extremely humble and it was hard for her to give me the ok to do this. As difficult as it is for her to admit, her family needs help. When she told me her house was gone, I broke out in tears and true to Angie’s personality she said, “It’s just a house. We are ok.” She is always looking at the bright side and full of gratitude. She is also always thinking of others and continued to check in with me to make sure I was safe, even after she lost her house.

Angie is an important part of my business, Dear Handmade Life. If you’re a vendor at our Patchwork Show, you likely know Angie because she answers all the vendor emails + helps us coordinate vendors (as well as does so many other crucial tasks). Her daughter Brynn had a booth at our upcoming Patchwork Show and was heartbroken when she realized that all the scarves she had been working on for months were gone and she wouldn’t be able to participate.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Angie's faith in the Lord here. She is a Christian in the true sense of the word – she loves others, doesn’t judge and does so much good for her family and community. I know that her faith is a big part of her positive attitude about this tragedy.

Thank you all for donating whatever you can to help Angie and her family rebuild their lives and also for sharing this and helping us spread the word. Every single dollar and share helps.

Much love,

-Nicole
