Amber Trano is an incredibly loving wife, mother, and teacher. Her and her husband Drew just celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary with their two beautiful sons Jace (5) and Wyatt (1). They live in Springfield, Oregon close to family, and enjoy spending time together outdoors.
Amber has a contagious smile, and a kind, compassionate, humble heart for others. She has a Master’s in Education from the University of Oregon, and has served as a passionate teacher, educator, and advocate for her elementary students in the Springfield Public School District.
On Tuesday, July 24th 2018 Amber and Drew were given the devastating news that she had been diagnosed with advanced stage breast cancer (Metastatic Invasive Ductal Carcinoma). Doctors have confirmed it has spread to several of her lymph nodes. She is scheduled to have a port placed next week, prior to starting a 12 month journey of chemo, as well as undergoing a number of surgeries (bilateral mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, and hysterectomy). This life altering information has been a lot to process. Although it has helped provide explanation to some of their outstanding questions regarding Amber's health over the past year. It has also created new questions and uncertainty around life as they know it.
There has been a tremendous outpouring of love and prayers from family and friends. Many have asked how they can help contribute and provide support during this difficult time. Amber has always been very strong, and courageous which will serve her well as she continues with this journey ahead and the fight of her life at the age of 32. That being said, she will not be returning to work this year given the severity of the situation. Anything that can be done to help provide Amber and Drew with the peace of mind, and ability to focus all the energy they have on helping her overcome this battle with cancer is going to be critical.
Amber's family is her heart, and her two boys are her entire world. She still has little league ballgames, birthday parties, holiday's, and a lifetime full of wonderful memories and milestones ahead yet to be realized.
