Dreambuilders: Bringing Math Home

Afrithmetic Tutoring is kickstarting our Math Summer with a fundraiser to support our first summer program Dreambuilders: Bringing Math Home. Dreambuilders is for rising 4th-8th graders to design their own apartment layout using math! Students will learn about budgeting, linear measurements, scaling, and geometry through different technology-integrated workshops. The workshops encourage creativity, critical thinking, and instill confidence, all of which are important math and life skills.
The sessions are hosted in July at the Fernbank Science Center and the State Farm Park Center 1 building in Dunwoody.
Currently our expenses include:
*Site Staff
*Insurance
*Shirts
*Lunch for the students
*Bulk Printing
*Stationary (open for donations)
Afrithmetic is an experience driven by mathematics to cultivate the true potential in all students. We service over 200 students, along with iEducate, in the Greater Atlanta Area through 1-on-1 tutorial sessions, workshops, and other community activities.
Our founder, Michole Washington (MicholeWashington.com), believes quality math instruction outside of the classroom should be easily accessible by EVERYONE despite financial restrictions. Donations to this cause will help fulfill her mission and purpose of this summer program.
