Hi, I'm Brent Legault, and I own Ada Books on the west side of Providence, R.I. I'm bugging you today in the hopes that you might contribute to a fund that will help save the shop.
You see, the property in which Ada Books has existed for the last 8 years is up for sale, and if I can't buy it myself, someone else will. Ada and I will cease to be. This deal needs to be made soon - by the end of March -- or else it will fall apart.
Any money you're able to give will go towards a down payment on the purchase price of that property. Any money you're able to give will mean Ada Books can remain in Providence, can remain in the world.
Rest assured, if the deal falls through and I don't end up buying the property, your money will be returned to you in full. If the deal is (ahem) consummated and Ada lives on, your generosity will be rewarded in some to-be-determined manner (probably gifts or gift certificates -- maybe a party).
Other than my wife, there is nothing more important to me than Ada Books. If you help me keep it, I'll be forever grateful.
