Help us raise funds for Blake and Cici! Here is their story:
Blake and Cici Vanim are the cutest brother and sister you have probably ever met. The best part is that despite Cici's poor vision, ear-tubes, and a slight speech delay, she is eager to learn how to dance. When asked what dancing meant for her, she maturely replied with a charming smile on her face "It is fun and makes me feel like a princess... And I'm used to working hard".
Her brother Blake is excited to join his sister on this dance journey. He thinks it will help him to "find [his] rhythm" and improve his athletic performance and coordination when he goes back to school.
Only with your help and support are we able to provide Blake and Cici with the dance experience that can help these two angels to keep dreaming big and inspiring other children to do the same.
At the Academy of Social Dance , the power of music and movement flow through our organization, creating a pulse that at times seems never-ending. Everyone who is involved in this process is filled with the power that pulse produces. It’s something magical to behold. After forty years in operation, we can take a step back and admire the work that we have done. Still, we do not do so. Instead, we look to the future, planning our next step, our next movement, confident that tomorrow and the next day will bring even greater magic, as long as we are up to the task.
And we are up to the task. Our staff is dedicated and our students are as passionate as ever. That, however, brings up an issue that we would like to touch on: the students. It is true that we teach many kids how to dance, but there are still many kids who remain without access to our classes. We want to change that by launching Dances for Hope, a charity that is dedicated to offering scholarships and tuition help to students who want to learn how to dance and lack the resources necessary to pay for our classes.
This is the average cost for a child to participate in the following:
Dance Shoes: $50-$125
Dance Costumes: $300-$400
1 week Summer Camp $425
1 Month of Classes $125
10 Months of Classes $1250
12 Months of Classes $1500
1 Competition $1500
What We Need & What You Get
Help us find and develop that talent. Help us do some good in the world and show kids everywhere that dancing is for everyone. We are turning to you, GoFundMe, in order to raise $20,000. These funds will get The Academy Dances for Hope started and make the Academy of Social Dance an even more incredible organization to be a part of, combining art and charity to make something that is genuinely unique. The Impact
There is untapped talent out there, and as long as we ignore it, the odds of it ever becoming anything are slim to none. History is filled with stories of kids who made it after they were given a shot. The Academy Dances for Hope is about giving kids those shots.
