Acute Myelogenous Leukemia Medical

Donation protected
Our Dear Friend James Horn is in dire need of financial and emotional assistance.

On August 9th 2016 Jimbo, as he is known by family and friends, was diagnosed with a rare sub-type of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia at the age of 52. If you are unfamiliar with this type of leukemia, it it a very rare strain of blood and bone marrow cancer.

His doctor has said that in his 37 years of practice in oncology and hemoyology,  he has only treated roughly six cases, of this most serious leukemia sub-type.

Jimbo is in for a long medical, emotional and spiritual battle, if he is to beat this cancer. Most likely, treatment will require a year in and out of the hospital.  With the intensive chemotherapy treatments, and subsequent side-effects, as well as constant blood and platelet transfusions, he will be required to stay in the hospital  most of the time.

Jimbo's illness was diagnosed after he nearly collapsed in the hospital in Prescott Arizona, near where he lives, on August 15th 2016. His first blood transfusions were preformed there.  He has since been transferred to Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa Arizona due to the seriousness and advanced progression of the cancer.

He started his fisrt round of chemotherapy on August 26th, and this first round will last 21 day's.   Six rounds of chemo is expected, and during each round he cannot leave his hospital floor, not even go outside to get a little fresh air.  As you can imagine, this is extremely hard to endure.

If the chemotherapy is successful, Jimbo will probably need one or more bone marrow transplants, as well as, additional blood transfusions.  The spector of reoccurance is always there, and God Forbid, more chemotherapy treatments may be required to insure a cure.

Jimbo is a great fun loving guy that loves life itself. He worked very hard, in the electronics industry, until he got sick.  He loves his two feline companions,  Maggie and Amber. He loves spending time with his friends,  watching movies and fine dining.  He loves the outdoors, and always enjoyed walks near the lake. His hobbies include collecting antique radios,  clocks and cameras.

Jimbo is a Christian and knows that whatever he is going through,  it's in God's hands.  Daily prayers are an essential part of his life.

The reason we have set up this account, is for the numerous expenses that Jimbo will need help with during this difficult ordeal.  He lives in Dewey Arizona but must have his treatments one hundred miles away in Mesa Arizona.  Some of his first financial hurdles are finding and securing care for his two beloved cats.  Being away from them for a month at a time is not only crushing his spirit,  but a logistical and financial nightmare.  We are seeking some sort of temporary adoption from a loving home that can deal with a mentally challenged cat. She is not mean, just so shy she is afraid of everything and everyone.  Currently we have individuals driving over 100 miles, one way, to come and care for them.

Finding adequate living arrangements and daily transportation to and from clinic's,  Dr's offices and the hospital,  will be our next hurdle.  Jim's condition has left him unable to drive, due to what we hope is a temporary loss of vision. He will be trying to maintain his residence in Dewey, with the hope of periodic visits between hospital stays.

The financial burden will be tremendous.  The medical  bills are already rolling in.  The costs could reach over a quarter of a million dollars.

I hope you can find it in your heart to open up and help Jimbo. The last thing he should need to worry about is money.

May God Bless Us
