AIMS Ireland Women's Support Fund

The AIMS Ireland Women's Support Fund exists to provide financial support to women who are fighting to uphold their right to informed choice in their maternal and reproductive health which are basic and inalienable rights.

We are currently raising funds to support the family at the centre of Hamilton v HSE who lost their case against Kerry General Hospital in the High Court at the end of July. Justice Sean Ryan has awarded costs against the family so they are now liable for both their own legal costs and those of the HSE.

In one judgement, Justice Ryan has removed pregnant and labouring women's rights to informed consent and has said that healthcare professionals are the people "entitled, authorised, and qualified to make the decision" about the use of interventions in childbirth. Not the woman.

Please help us in supporting the Hamilton family in this punitive financial burden our courts system has landed at their feet and effectively told the women of Ireland that there's no point in pursuing their rights in the courts.

Please note money donated will be used to help the Hamiltons meet their existing legal commitments. This fund is not to raise costs for a Supreme Court Appeal.
