Fire Funds : ACR Bouverie Preserve

On October 9th, it all burned.
The Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen, one of the largest of Audubon Canyon Ranch's many nature preserves in Sonoma County, suffered major fire damage. The photo above shows just one of seven buildings that no longer exist. More than half of ACR's science and education team lost their offices, and many lost their homes on the preserve. The wildlife, and the biologists that protect them, are in a state of shock.
The fires are still burning and it is too soon to tell what is needed. But it is clear that ACR will need significant help to rebuild. Let's show them, right now, that there is an extended community supporting them.
The funds raised during this REBUILD campaign go directly to the team at Audubon Canyon Ranch, the leading wildlife and nature preservation organization for Sonoma and Marin Counties. All funds will be used to rebuild what has been lost at this preserve.
Founded in 1962, ACR is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit environmental conservation and education organization which owns and acts as guardian of a system of nature preserves spanning 26 properties in Marin, Sonoma and Lake counties. These 5,000 acres provide significant habitat to wildlife and have been placed in our care by generous donors to steward and protect in perpetuity. ACR works to improve global environmental health by conserving and stewarding valuable natural resources, managing for ecological resiliency, providing scientific solutions to ecosystem management, and teaching generations of conservationists in ways that strengthen natural and human communities. The ACR team of 35 people stewards more than 5,000 acres of Northern California's most pristine nature. As the neighbor and trustee for Jim and Shirley Modini, who entrusted ACR with their 1,700-acre ranch when they passed away, I have had a front row seat to the science-based care and dedication the ACR team gives to Northern California's wildlife. Your contribution will be a tangible and meaningful gesture of support for this dedicated team following their devastating loss.
