The Short Film Project

Hello!
My name is Alex and I'm 20 years old, and I currently reside in the small village of Warlingham, Surrey.
I'm currently trying to raise money for the first time to begin a short film project, which will aid both my upcoming studies and my future career as an actor and film maker.
I'm looking to raise a small amount of money which will help me buy the necessary equipment such as a camera, microphone, and any additional items I may need. I've saved for a good five months now and I'm almost where I need to be, but was hoping to have much more before the summer, where I have loads of free time.
In September, I start my drama school training at ALRA - The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, with a one year foundation degree. It would mean so much to me to be able to create my own personal short films for use online and as part of projects that I may encounter during my studies. I also want to be able to start a long awaited YouTube channel, so that I am able to share my life with others online. I have many plans to both share stories, advice, and tips on College and Drama School auditions, as well as my personal battles and coping startegies with losing family members and anxiety.
This really means a lot to me for a couple of reasons, my dad admired film and cinema very much before he passed in 2014, and it is because of him that I have such an interest in cinema, and likewise short films, today. Being able to produce my own would not only make me so happy but I firmly believe that I would be making him proud too.
My passion for making short films has never been able to come to fruition due to a lack of funds, and it would mean so much to be able to get the ball rolling with it. During my time at college I wasn't able to fufil planned projects and was forced to use the mediam of theatre, which was easier for me, instead. While I was very successful in this and loved every second, my passion lies firmly with film.
I'm not expecting much, but I would be so thankful for any funds raised, even if it is £5! I hope one day I can give back to the world not only as an actor, not only as a hopeful film maker, but as a good-hearted person.
