Mission
ABC Youth Foundation's mission is to empower San Diego's inner city youth to face life's challenges with courage and dignity.

History
Originally founded by World Light Heavyweight Boxing Champion Archie Moore, the ABC Youth Foundation was founded in 1957 as a prevention program. Archie Moore predicted a drug and gang epidemic, and intended to fight it by offering the youth in underserved neighborhoods a positive alternative through boxing. In 1998 Archie Moore passed away, leaving his son Billy Moore as President of the organization where we continue to offer enrichment programs to youth in underprivileged neighborhoods.

Vision
ABC Youth Foundation's vision is to provide after-school programs in a safe environment for the youth in underserved areas. Our unique concept involves a boxing gym and a learning center, where we provide boxing instruction from world-class coaches and academic assistance from tutors/volunteers year-round. Additionally, we have our "Bridging the Gap" break programs which we provide when schools are out of session to keep our youth enriched.

How can you help?
It is our goal to provide the highest quality programs to the largest number of youth. For this, we need financial support. Please consider contributing to ABC's mission. There is an ongoing need for up-to-date boxing gear, athletic equipment and uniforms. We also intend to continue building our Learning Center by filling our bookcases with books, and providing a quiet and comfortable space where our students can study.

You will feel proud to know that by donating to the ABC Youth Foundation, not only are you keeping our youth safe from drugs and gang violence but you are offering them a positive alternative.
