Last Wish For Leah

My name is Tracey.
This is my friend Leah Andersen, from Benarkin QLD. She is 38 years old. Leah was born with Cystic Fibrosis. In February 2010 Leah was given a new chance at life when she received a lung transplant.

Unfortunately since then Leah has had many transplant related problems including infections, pneumonia, kidney failure (due to anti rejection drugs), & finally full blown rejection.

Sadly there is no second chance for Leah. She is unable to have another transplant or go on dialysis,due to all her other health problems & the anti rejection medications.

The doctors have estimated she has 2-4 years left.

Leah would like to make the most of that time. She has one last wish and that is to go on a cruise from Brisbane to Perth, then back home by land. If she is going to achieve this she needs the help of her community & the facebook community & she needs it fast.

Because of her decline in energy, physical strength, & lack of breath, she is also in need a wheelchair & a portable oxygen making machine. (The Lions Club have generously lent her an old wheelchair,but she desperately needs a new one.)
Having been through thetrauma of transplant myself,I know what an emotional rollercoaste Leah has been on & to be told the transplant is failing & there is no hope,is devastating for Leah & her family & friends.

Please help us raise the much needed funds for Leahs' Last Wish. To see her happy for the short time she has left would mean the world to her loved ones and may just give her the strength,wil & courage to carry on for that bit longer.
Leah has asked that if she should pass before she gets her wish,that half of anything raised go to the transplant unit that treats her & the other half go to the cystic fibrosis foundation.
