World Youth Cup Tournament

Donation protected
Our Southampton United Academy 2003 soccer team has been invited to play in the World Youth Cup tournament, the Gothia Cup , in Gothenburg, Sweden in July of 2019.  These boys have been playing soccer together for many years and they are a very successful team.  They play US Club soccer in Division 1 and they play all around the State of New York and in competitive tournaments in the East Coast.   Last season, the team won their division.

This is the opportunity of a lifetime for these aspiring student athletes.  It is a very great honor to be invited to play in this tournament and we are thrilled at the opportunity to send our team to represent Southampton and the United States in the Tournament.  Gothia Cup is the world’s largest and most international youth soccer tournament.  Each year, around 1,700 teams from 80 nations take part in the Gothia Cup.

It’s the teams, and participants from around the world that make the tournament unique.  It is a meeting place for the world’s youth, irrespective of religion, skin color or nationality, with soccer as the common denominator.

Here is where you come in!  The trip is very expensive (almost $3,000 per person) so we are hoping to get some help from friends, family and friends of youth sports.

All of the funds will go to paying for the cost of traveling to and participating in the tournament.

We need to raise the money by February 1, 2019 in order to meet all of the tournament deadlines.

Your support would mean the world to these boys who train year round to both play and to share their love of the game of soccer. These players are excellent students first, and  local volunteers and multi-sport athletes who inspire older and younger kids in our community.  By participating in this international competition, it is a win both for the team, the younger kids who look up to them and for the entire community.

We hope you will help us send these great kids from Academy 2003 Southampton Soccer to represent their club, their community and the United States at the World Youth Cup, the Gothia Cup!  Thank you so very much for your support!
