Message from Sarah:
On May 5th, at approximately 5:30 PM, Kirk Carl Klinger, the love of my life, my sun and stars, suffered a massive heart attack at just 38 years old. Although the doctors were eventually able to revive him, my vibrant, passionate man now lies in a medically induced coma with machines doing the work of the rest of his body so his heart can rest and get stronger. He is in critical condition.

This man, whose heart was so full of love for his friends and family, who would never lay a finger on or intentionally hurt anything, who would give you the shirt off his back, this man needs your help. I am asking you to keep him in your thoughts, to fill the universe with strength and good vibes and whatever it is you believe in.

We need our Kirk.

Kirk does not have insurance and with prayers and positive thoughts he will recover. We need your help and support. Please leave a message for the family and consider donations to help Kirk and Sarah through this difficult time.

Please check Kirk's Caring Bridge page for updates on his status.

Journal entry by Sarah Clark — 4 hours ago

Nearly one week after Kirk had his heart attack, I finally got to go back into his room and talk to him, see his eyes that actually see me back, listen to his voice, see the typical Kirk facial expressions... Hear him say I love you <3

Kirk remembers absolutely everything leading up to his heart attack. He was telling us about how he pulled over and the pain he was experiencing. He remembers being in the emergency room and being incredibly frustrated that they kept asking him questions and making him do paperwork when he KNEW he was having a heart attack and the pain was so great. Then he kept saying, "I died! I died! Isn't that crazy?? I can't believe I died!" I told him that we were lucky because if we had been any later, two of the cardiologists that help save his life wouldn't have been here. He kept saying "That's so crazy!" He knows that he has been in the hospital for a long time and he wants to go home. I told him that we wouldn't be able to go home for a while yet and he said "Yeah I suppose." Typical Kirk. We told him that there were LOTS of people worried about him and that everyone was thinking about him and he said "I don't know why." Extra Typical Kirk. His mom asked him a typical mom question and his response? "yeah mom I know!" soooo Kirk! I asked him if he knew I loved him SOOOO MUCH and he said "Of course I do!" <3

My Kirky Carl is mostly back. Now we just have to worry about his kidneys. He is currently running a low grade fever but that is to be expected. Keep those good thoughts flowing, we still need them!
