Help Nick get a new wheelchair Van!

Hi,

My name is Nick,

I have set up this page in hope of reaching my goal of getting a new wheelchair van. I have quadripalegic cerebral palsy and I am confined to a wheelchair. I also rely on my wheelchair van for Dr. appointments as now I am dealing with hiatal hernia, and Barrett's esophagus. Quite the lengthy portion of my esophagus has Barrett's about 8 to 9 cm. That means an (Endoscopy) a scope down my throat every 6 months for now. My voice is very raspy and at times I am very hard to understand. The doctors don't know if I will ever get my voice back or not. Only time will tell.

Two winters ago now rabbits chewed up the wiring in my wheelchair van and it has not run at all since. There are many other problems with my van such as a gas leak, an exhaust leak, and it needs a new water pump. The electric ramp stopped working years ago and sometimes the electric door won't open. Our van is a 1994. The dealership said we would be better off to get a new van because they couldn't guarantee they could get all the parts needed to fix the van due to its age. It's almost impossible for me to get anywhere anymore because public transportation does not run at night in my area. To hire private transportation it is too costly for me. The last time it was $90.00 for a round trip ride for me to get somewhere and back home that night. 

I am unable to afford a new wheelchair van do to their high cost and I really need one to get around to my doctor appointments or anywhere else I may need or want to go. I haven't been able to do much at all since the van hasn't been working. I would love to be able to just get in my very own van and go again whenever I needed to. Also it would be nice just to have the option of going out in the evening if I wanted to.
