Justice for Murphy

First and foremost, thank you for being an animal lover and caring enough to visit this page. I have started this Reward Fund in the hopes that people will come forward with information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of a friendly, neighborhood cat named Murphy. He was doused with gasoline and set on fire suffering a horrific death in New Britain on Thursday, April 14th, 2016 somewhere between 3 and 3:45 pm.
After hearing of this poor cat's torture and suffering, there was no way I could sit back and do nothing about it and let the "New Britain Cat Killers" get away with this and possibly hurt another poor, defenseless, loving animal. It's OK to feel sad and angry, but it's not OK to turn away from animal cruelty and abuse. Turning your back on a problem does not make it go away. "Non action only helps the abusers."
Yes, it is very difficult to look at the pictures of him burnt to death and I can't even fathom the incredible pain and significant suffering he was going through. I also imagine what he must've been thinking. Why are they doing this to me? What have I done? He was only friendly and nice to everyone, including those who ultimately would torture and kill him.
$2500 of the money will be used for the Reward. Any amount raised above and beyond that will be used to make sure his murderers are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Animal abuse is a serious crime and needs to be prosecuted as such. All too often animal abusers are not prosecuted or simply given a slap on the wrist. What kind of messed up society are we living in where killing and torturing poor defenseless animals is not considered the heinous crime that it is and abusers are not held accountable. Abusers of animals are 5 times as likely to harm humans. If an animal suffers one single day, that is one day too many.
Thank you for not silencing your heart and caring enough to make sure Murphy did not die in vain. There are many other Murphy's out there every day being abused and tortured and it needs to stop right now. I have made it my mission to find his killers. I will personally do and spend whatever it takes to find them. It will not end there. I will also do whatever it takes to make sure they are prosecuted and punished for what they did to this poor baby.
Murphy and I can't thank you enough for sharing this journey to justice. Unfortunately, it can't bring him back but together we can make a difference in the lives of other sweet and innocent animals.
