Days for Girls

Nyeri, Kenya is a town very close to my heart and many others' because of a life changing school and rescue center - Saint Mary's School for Boys and Child Rescue Center. As myself and a few others embark back to Saint Mary's in June and July, we will be bringing forth a different project. Instead of mainly working with Saint Mary's, we will be partnering with Githwariga Primary School which is where many of the boys from the child rescue center go. At this school we will be educating girls on feminine hygiene and distributing Days for Girls kits to girls in grades 6-8. Days for Girls is a nonprofit that provides sustainable feminine hygiene kits which last a girl or woman for 2-3 years. Girls who do not have access to feminine products miss many days of school per month and per year causing interuptions to their education. With your help, we will be able to provide 150 girls through grades 6-8 with these sustainable feminine hygiene kits. 

The smallest donation we have to pay per kit is $3, which is represented in our minimum goal of $450, although the materials that are needed by volunteers to be sewn cost around $15. However, only $3 will provide one girl with a more 'free, dignified, and educated world'!! Anything no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated!
