Help Jai Remain in the UK

Hi, I'm Jai McCubbin. I'm a 26 year old Canadian with a Bachelor's Degree and a desire to do good in the world. 

For the past (roughly) 8 years, I've been with my fiance. We started long distance, him here in the UK, me over in Canada. 

For the past two years, we've finally had the opportunity to live in the same place, while I've been in the UK on a short term visa. 

Now we're trying to sort out the next stage of visas I need, so that we can spend the rest of our lives together. 

Unfortunately, due to changes in the visas available to me, and the requirements for them, I now have two options: 
1. Get a really well paying job, who can sponsor me for a work visa. 
2. Saving up enough money to go for a spousal visa. 

I'm working on number 1, but for 2 we have to have the funds in our account for six months before I apply for the visa. With all the math and such, it works out to (you guessed it) £36000.

We know this is a long shot, but if I can't get a job, and if we don't manage to make this money, we'll have to delay my coming back to the UK for three to five years, which would... suck. A lot. 

Anything anyone can do to help would me immensely appreciated. I really don't want to have to go back to getting a few hours on Skype every evening with my fiance of 8 years after getting to live together for the past 2.
