Help Me Fight Thyroid Cancer
After a FNA biopsy on May 15, 2018, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I am 38 years old and never thought despite my ordeal with familial polyposis that I would end up with this diagnosis. I had just lost my job in February before having surgery for 2 very large fibroids and was out of a position to find a job until I was medically cleared from that surgery. Now I face another surgery to have my thyroid removed, and will be out of a position once again.
My friends can attest to my position on asking for help, especially of the financial type. I hate (yes that's a strong word, however true) asking for financial assistance, however facing this diagnosis, I am swallowing a boatload of pride here and asking for help. Even if it is a dollar, any little bit helps. I will have expenses associated with this including mortgage and medical expenses. I am starting a page at the prompting and encouragement of my friends after musing about this since I received the call with my diagnosis. I was told to go for it, so I am, full throttle.
At this moment, the plan is to meet with a thyroid surgeon on May 31st to discuss surgery. I am not sure when that will happen, however I will try to keep up with keeping people posted on here. As you can imagine, this will be a rollercoaster time, but I will do my best on communicating more details as they become available. As one of my friends says "Pray, Fight, Win!!". He lost his mother to cancer, just like I did. I intend to fight and beat this to oblivion. I just need a little help along the way.

The page photo? I was going through some old photos from a few years ago and came across one from Lake George a few years ago. It is one I liked and I don't look like a doofus in haha. I love the view as well. Those that know me know I love to hike. I will beat this so I can get back on the trails again.
