Thank you so much for taking the time to visit this site to make a donation towards the recovery of our FAVORITE Jamie Myers! Jamie was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Thursday May 15th.  He will undergo surgery to remove the tumor this week and then it's off to inpatient care for quite some time. His parents, Heather and Chris, are missing A LOT of work in order to be by his side through all of this.. we absolutely need as many donations as possible so that Heather and Chris can spend as much time as needed with their son. For those of you that may have heard of this site through a friend of a friend, or family member, and don't personally know Jamie, let me assure you that your donation will be the best money you've ever spent.  Jamie is an incredible brother to his beautiful sister, Jayne, and the amount of friends that love this kid is off the charts. They don't make them like Jamie anymore.. He is SPECIAL and we owe it to him, and to ourselves, to make sure he gets the best treatment available. As friends, family, and as a community, lets come together and get Jamie the treatment he needs so that in no time, he'll be back out there changing this world by just being him.

As Jamie's Mom, Heather, would say, we are endlessly grateful for your compassion and support.. We will never be able to thank you enough for the donations and love you've shown Jamie and our family. <3 <3 <3

Thank you to all of those who have reached out to my family in one way or another over these past 5 months. My sister Heather is trying her best to keep everyone updated, but life, as you can imagine, has taken her for quite a ride giving her less time than she would like to keep in contact with all of you. SO I’m going to do my best to keep it short & sweet, yet super informative (Please excuse any typos, etc… writing this on my lunch break and have no time to proof read).
First off, if you didn’t know J had that dang ol’ tumor on his brain, you’d never know he was as sick as he is. He pulls off his eye patch so well that it’s only a matter of time before people start wearing it as the latest fashion accessory. Not to mention his bad ass Mohawk which he keeps only in the finest condition. I do believe as I type this, the Mohawk may be in transition from brown to purple.. what can I say, the kid has no shame.
On a little heavier note, Jamie’s battle hasn’t been a walk in the park. He’s rocking out as a senior at Pine View but I can guarantee this isn’t the typical senior year experience. Jamie has frequent headaches which have scaled at times at about a 9 out of 10 however the doctors are doing their best to manage his pain. Chemo Therapy and Radiation are at a halt for the time being as the Docs come up with their next plan of attack. At the moment, we are all currently trying to work on getting Jamie up to Duke for a second opinion. The Doctors at All Children are in constant contact with those at Duke & it’s just a matter of making it work financially for the Myers family. We are all super thrilled to add more incredible doctors to the equation so we can come up with the best possible plan to kick this cancer’s ass.
Speaking of kicking ass, (Jamie don’t hate me) A couple of weeks ago, Jamie was nominated for Mr. Pine View.. I don’t know too many details about his routine, but I can guarantee this young man will not disappoint :) I am one proud Aunt :)
As for Heather and Chris, they are doing their best to hold it together during all of this. No one will truly understand the difficulties of their situation (unless they have been there), but we can imagine… Heather is back to work at the YMCA but her scheduled hours are around 10 a week. It has been difficult to commit to more than this because of the abundant amount of doctors appointments, emergency room visits, etc. Chris is still working hard but the decrease in income that Heather was once able to provide has been trying on their family.
Lastly – Please continue the prayers, positive vibes and thoughts, call and emails, air hugs and kisses, etc. The Myers can use all the love and support they can get right now. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your concern and compassion towards my nephew and our family.

Hello Jamie Fans!! Just a quick update to fill you in on Jamie's journey so far.. For those of you who are not aware, Jamie's tumor was diagnosed as cancerous.. The Doctors are taking a very aggressive approach with Chemo Therapy (Everyday) and Radiation (5 days a week) which is all the way up in St. Pete. This will go on for a couple more weeks and then they will give J's body a rest before they do another MRI. Jamie and his family have approached this all with the most positive outlook, but it's safe to say that this is just the beginning of their journey. All of you have been so wonderful with preparing meals and reaching out with love and support... Keep up the good work!! Gas cards are always a great idea with all the driving back and forth to St. Pete... just an idea :) Should any of you ever want an update, never hesitate to contact me.. We love you and please keep up the prayers towards my nephew.. We love you Jamie!!

Jamie is a spectacular friend. Seriously. If you need a hand, which, despite what my name might suggest, I sometimes do, he is the best person to go to- always willing to lend an ear, a hand, or, at one point, hold himself mid-push-up for ten minutes straight because I needed a reference for an art piece. So to get together and give him a hand or two back onto his feet- What worthier cause is there? And Mr. Myers got it right, Jamie is the greatest kid ever. And he's growing up to be an even better man. Love you all! Thanks!

I am Chris the dad of the greatest kid ever. I woul say that even if he wasn't my kid. I know very few of you but thank you all for being so incredible. The kid has persevered just like I expected because he comes from two strong headed parents. I have so much gratitude for you all and can never or repay or acknowledge you anonymous people. I can't believe how much your kindness has meant. Thank you all but please continue your support and spread the word.
