Lance Neal - Artist, father, friend.
On April 24th, 2018 Lance passed away in Glendalough, County Wicklow.
Born in Cashmere, Washington in 1944. Lance dedicated his life to painting, spending the latter half of his years in the Wicklow mountains, where he became a much loved part of the community. Having been born a “blue baby” with a severe heart defect lance was not expected to live long. He was an anomaly with a wonderful attitude to life. Each passing year an unexpected gift. He lived his life exactly as he wished with no regrets.
Known for his exceptional talent and also his unique personality, Lance was universally loved by those who met him. His ability to talk to anyone, from all walks of life endeared him to everyone he knew. Possessing a vast wealth of knowledge on madly diverse subjects, Lance also had a wicked sense of humor and a kind heart. A gentleman, a lover of Guinness, a ‘rolly’ and having the craic, Lance was truly one of a kind.
His death has affected everyone that knew him. He was not materialistic at all. Preferring the simple things in life. He wasn’t bothered with bank accounts, savings or life insurance and died a rich man in friends and life’s experiences but poor of pocket.
It is because of this that our family is required to do some fundraising in an effort to cover the funeral costs, grave plaque and related expenses. Any small contribution will help ease the burden.
