Is Bedel Village - Create Change

IsBedel village is home to 2000 people including women and children. The community in this IDP camp outside of Garowe city in Somalia has been displaced by war, famine and poverty. The resilient people of Is Bedel Camp have endured so many challenges. They have been moving around inside Somalia for the last twenty-seven years due to war and its aftermath. Mothers who were teenagers at the start of the Somali war in 1991 are now grand mothers seeing their daughters repeat the same horrific cycle of poverty. Now that same grandmother is witnessing her grand daughter being born into the same poverty as her and her daughter she knows change is needed...change in the Somali language is IsBedel. We are setting this page to bring about sustainable, stable and productive change in this IsBedel Village that is the name the residents picked for the camp.

As a village we have decided to build our own bathrooms to practice good hygiene and good environmental awareness.

There are so many needs for the community of resilient women, children and men who have stayed with their families despite their meager earnings. As lovers of Humanity we chose to tell the gorgeous stories, the resilient stories of the people of IsBedel Village. We want to see small children flourish with the best education. So help us build the first IsBedel School. We want to champion the earing of children left behind in the IDP camp. There are given no chance to learn. Their parents are in poverty but their mind and their dreams will not be stopped by poverty. Please help us teach our children at the Is Bedel Village.

that works in Somalia to help families get out of poverty into productive, stable happy lives. HAP is responsible for the funds. HAP will manage it to make sure all funds reach the victims. Humanity Against Poverty
http://humanityagainstpoverty.org is non-profit organization that works on poverty issues. We will collect the funds and distribute to the camp. Humanity Against Poverty (HAP) will be responsible for all the funds and the distribution of the funds. 

Our relationship to IsBedel Village:

Our relationship to the camp comes from our connection to the Village through Canab Dahir our partner and Village Director who we have been working with since 2017 to bring about change to the Village. 

How the funds will be used:

There will be no third party recipient. All funds will be used directly to build this community of women and children. Our message to you all is to think positively and creatively while coming together as a worldwide community to build:

Bathrooms
A school
A Clinic
Fun areas for children 
A community garden and gathering space for village residents. IsBdedel is change and change with purpose is meaningful and beautiful. Come and join us.
