Marathons for Mental Health
$1,020 of $500 goal
Raised by 40 people in 12 months
Mental health needs to be discussed. We must continue to talk about it openly, without judgement and to break the stigma. I am running marathons in 2018 with funds going directly to Rattle the Stars. Read their mission below. "Our mission is to raise awareness about youth depression and other mental illnesses and to prevent suicide in teens and young adults. We accomplish this goal by starting the conversation and helping people talk openly and honestly about mental illness and suicide. We host and take part in events throughout the year to make sure that we keep these issues at the forefront in the community. We provide resources and supports for teachers, coaches, and others to build conversations about mental illness and suicide into their work with youth. We provide outlets for people who have been affected by mental illness and suicide to share their experiences and express their feelings." Thanks for all your support from the start of the year until now. I won't forget it. I'm currently trying to get some downtime so I can process all of this and put it into writing. I'll be winding down the campaign shortly. Glad to have the energy and grateful to have amazing friends that support me from near and far. Goodbye for now.
Spent my weekend volunteering at the Chicago Marathon. Now a little over a month to my final race of the year. I'm worn down and looking forward to a rest afterwards. That is what is keeping me going. Hoping to finish strong on November 11th. Thanks for the support this year.
Forgot to update my GoFundMe page but most of you follow along on Instagram or Facebook. The final marathon in the Marathons For Mental Health campaign takes place on November 11th! Feel free to chip in, every little helps my charity cause, Rattle the Stars, continue their work to educate parents, teens and schools in suicide intervention. Thanks so much for the messages of support and donations so far.
