Ellie Attacked Snow Macaque Primate fund

Ellie is an 8 week old baby Japanese Snow Macaque Monkey.

She was born at a facility in Pennsylvania and had a very severe life threatening start to her tiny precious life.

When she was just couple days old - her mother had done something terrible

Nobody knows why, but momma grabbed her own baby and shattered her jaw and scratched her face severely, leaving her at the bottom of the enclosure, helpless.

When she was found, she was covered in a pool of her own blood and believed to be dead by her

parent's caretakers.

When they realized she still had some life left in her tiny precious, lifeless body; they rushed her to their local vet who had yet to work on a primate. On the way, they noticed that her bottom jaw was dangling and was also split down the middle. The tears poured from the women's eyes at the sight of this.

The vet could not anesthetize her and was very skeptical on what to do to save this poor baby.

They eventually thought to use propofol and immediately she was under so that they could work on her to save her life.

An hour past and they had gotten a tiny wire in her bottom jaw and also had stitched her eye up.

3 days later the wire came out leaving the jaw still broke....  the surgery had to be repeated.

4 days after the second wire was put it, it also came out again....Ellie\'s caretakers became very discouraged and were not sure how she would be able to live without a bottom jaw...it was almost the end of the road for the helpless little infant.

They decided to give the surgery one more try...and the 3rd time was a charm...as they used a different sized wire, that is still holding in 8 week old Ellie today.

Ellie had to be placed into a home - now with Jacob Ruehlman - as she is recovering from this traumatic attack from her own mother. Ellie will NEVER have bottom teeth.

She has developed major trust issues - as any creature can almost always 100%  trust into their own parent....but not little Ellie. She is very nervous and is still recovering from these surgeries. As well as being in extreme pain. She does receive pain medication and anti-inflammatory meds daily.

She must travel from Ohio for her next surgery on November 3rd back at the same Vet in Pennsylvania.

She is currently living with Jacob Ruehlman who lives - In Ohio.

The total cost of the surgeries is going to be due to the vet caring for Ellie, not long after her final surgeries are completed. We want to help raise money for this precious little baby.

She is a great joy and deserves to be given a good life. Jacob is just so joyous over giving her a second chance at hers.
