Educating Indian Kids
Donation protected
The purpose of this project is to help vulnerable children living in the slums of northern India get off the streets and into school. Aussies for Orphans are partnering with Lakshya Aakriti Foundation (LAF). LAF established the temporary Brighter Futures Study Centre in Kalyanpuri Slum, East Dehli. Today the centre is teaching numeracy and literacy to over 1,500 children who are surviving by rag picking on the rubbish tips nearby. The students and teachers meet at rotating times under a highway bridge using the the pillars as chalkboards. 100% of the money donated will go toward the building of a permanent Brighter Futures Study Centre. The goal for this campaign is to help kickstart this awesome project in India. My parents are the founders of the charity Aussies for Orphans and I am travelling to India at the end of the year to visit the children living in the slums who will be the beneficiary of the funds.
