Save Stacy & Jake's 8/16/14 Wedding
$10,975 of $5,000 goal
My best friend Stacy and her fiancé Jake received word on Friday, May 9th, Jake's birthday, that their wedding venue, ReBar in Brooklyn, NY, had unexpectedly and shockingly declared bankruptcy & were closed for business effective immediately. They were not given any notice and unfortunately had to find out the heartbreaking news via the internet. ReBar's owner stole over $17,000 of their hard earned savings that they put towards the venue for their August 16th wedding - a wedding they have been planning since their engagement in March of 2013. There is almost a 0% chance they will get this money back and are now faced with the task of planning an entire wedding in 3 months which includes finding a new venue, caterer, DJ & florist, as these were all included in their ReBar package. Not to mention doing all of this on an extremely tight budget given their losses.
Stacy and Jake are an amazing couple whose love, along with the love & support of family & friends, will help them through this stressful time and we are sure they they will ultimately have a beautiful celebration of their marriage on August 16th.
Any amount you can donate to help them recoup a portion their crushing loss would be hugely helpful. If you can only give $5, they would graciously accept it with many thanks and a humble heart.
Overwhelming is the best word to describe how awesome the love & support shown for Stacy & Jake has been over the past 24 hours. I can't imagine how thankful and loved they feel right now. I cannot believe that we exceeded our goal already with all of the donations! Every single one has and will help them & bring their special day back to life! I know that this is definitely helping them have a sense of peace and less stress as they search for their new venue, which they are doing all of this week and weekend. Donations are still welcome to fill the gap of their loss and with everyone's help this will enable them to rebook a venue in the next week. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
