Sarah's Education Fund

 

 

Martha and B.J. Worsham have hit a rough patch in their family’s finances, just as their oldest child Sarah is headed to Stony Brook University to begin her freshman year.  The worry and stress of not being able to meet their obligations were shared with several in our group.  While Sarah has been awarded a merit-based scholarship, it does not cover the total cost of tuition or room and board, not to mention the notoriously expensive textbooks she will need for her classes.

Remembering the days when the Brookviile Reformed Church was able to offer modest scholarships for young members as they began their college careers, our group determined to ease some of the financial burdens on Sarah and her parents. To this end, we are establishing a GoFundMe page, along with some special events (e.g. music concert, walkathon), bringing together the Old Brookville Church community, family and friends to raise funds in support of Sarah as well as awareness of our mission.
