Hi, my name is Jeanne Dotter. I am Camila's maternal grandmother. Here is Camila's story. Camila was born premature at 32 weeks. At the age of 3 months, she had 2 major strokes that left her brain damaged. She had her 3rd stroke at 8 1/2 months. She is now  1 years old and is suffering through seizures since her first stroke.  My granddaughter is taking 4 different medicines just to control her seizures. Doctors have diagnosed her with Moya Moya Syndrome. She will be needing brain surgery to try and save her life. The problem that her mom is having is all the appointments that Camila needs to go to. Dad drops them off for the appointments but they have no way of getting back and forth to laboratories and other appointments. Mom is always depending on other family members to pick her up and get her to the other appointments, and sometimes it is very difficult.They have one car in the family and they cannot afford to buy another one so mom can use it for the appointments as dad needs to work. All of the appointments are far away(an hour or two, depending on traffic)as is the hospital in which she needs to go in case of an emergency. We are asking all you good people in helping us in getting my daughter a car so she can easily transport her daughter without bothering anybody. All help is greatly appreciated! Thank you, in advance, for your kindness !

Hola a todos
Desde la ultima actualización a pasado muchas cosas;

Hi everyone my name is Janet. I am Camila's mom. Since Camila's last update its been a roller coaster ride;

- Camila finally got her wheelchair some time in May, it is working great for her so far.

- She's been getting physical therapy once a week for the past two months at an office about 40 min. from home and once a month at home.

-She will be getting occupational therapy once a week starting in august the app. are about 40 min. away from home.

- She was hospitalized in June for about a week because she got sick and started having seizures and ended up in the ICU for observation. She is now home and doing ok. The doctors discovered that she has a problem in her throat and was referred to an ENT(otorhinolaryngology ear,nose, throat) doctor to see of she needs an operation( her app. is in august the app. is almost 3 hours away from home). I have to get someone to take us and bring us back home.

-On July 11 we had to take her wheelchair to get readjusted because she has grown a bit. We were told that we have to take her wheelchair in every two months to check for adjustments. We have to call in two weeks for her new head support to see if it will work better for her.

-She has her good days and her bad days. We try to make her as comfortable as possible.

- We had to get a baby oximeter to monitor her oxigen levels while she is sleeping because her oxigen levels will drop at times when she is a sleep.

-Camila's dad takes off from work as much as he can to take us to her appointments, it is very hard because he is the only one working right now and its just getting harder every time with just one car in the house and her appointments are to many every month and every month there's a new specialist to go to. All help is needed and greatly appreciated. Thank you very much, God Bless You!!!
