Heart to Heart

Please keep my daughter, Lenora Lynne Duran in your prayers.

If you are able to give anything from your heart to her heart it will be greatly appreciated.

She is only 29 and has to have a pacemaker put in. As fatal as her condition can be the doctor wants it done as soon possible.

The surgery/procedure is scheduled for tomorrow morning and we just found out that she has to pay $2,622.26 out of pocket for this procedure.

She has been diagnosed with 3rd degree (also referred to as complete) heart blockage.

About 3rd Degree AV Heart Block

Every time your heart beats, an electrical signal travels from the upper to the lower chambers. Along the way, the signal tells your heart to contract and pump blood.

When that signal is slowed down or kept from sending its message, it causes a condition called heart block. This affects the rate and rhythm of your heart, or the number of times it beats and the pattern of those beats.

Third degree (also called complete). No electrical messages get through. The rate and rhythm of your heartbeat is very slow or it may even stop entirely. This type of heart block can be fatal.

I remember when she was little and we used to play dress up and put on a fashion show. Time goes by so quickly.

When she was still in college attending UTSA. her major was in Architecture. She designed a home that she wanted us to have built for all of us. Her passion was to restore old castles and travel the world doing this. She asked me to get our dual citizenship so she could continue her studies in Dublin Ireland.

I was just about to follow through with that about the time the housing industry fell and she decided to take a break from college. It was about that time that she started to have medical issues. After ruling out everything the doctors could think of she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Small Fiber Neuropathy, Sick Sinus Syndrome, Bradycardia, and Sjogren. One Autoimmune disease after another.

I would give anything to have a magic wand to wave to make her better. I pray to God all of the time and I would gladly take her place in having all of these issues if it would take them away from her. It has been a long journey someone so young to have to handle. I really hope the doctors with God Guidance can help her.

I saw this posted on my daughter's Facebook account not too long ago:

"Something chronic illness has taught me is to take more time to live in and enjoy each moment. Don't stress so much and quit worrying about tomorrow it will still be there tomorrow. When you’re having a good day and you're surrounded by the things or people you love just stop and live in the moment. Take the time for self-care, indulge and spoil yourself. Take a day and spend it doing what makes you happy cause you deserve it. Guilt-free, worry-free, you've earned it. Life is too short and too precious and it could be gone in a flash."

Please keep my daughter, Lenora in your prayers for God to Bless her with the strength and courage she needs and to give her doctors and medical staff the knowledge and compassion they need to give her back the quality of life back that she once had and dreamed of.

A prayer made especially for Lenora Lynne Duran:

My heart is breaking for my child, Lenora. The weight of this situation is so heavy it’s difficult to breathe. My words choke out in fragments. Sometimes they don’t come at all. Articulating thoughts requires more energy than I have, so I just sit in silence.

My strength is gone. I’m anxious, Father. This situation doesn’t make sense to me. My child, Lenora, is so innocent and vulnerable. I don’t understand why this is happening.

Help me to trust you with  Lenora's life . . .  with every aspect of this situation . . . with all the pieces of my life. Keep me from attempting to rely on my own understanding because there is no way to understand this.

Help me trust you with all my heart – not just part of it. I acknowledge that everything in the heavens and earth – everything that is precious to me including  Lenora – belongs to you. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

This is your kingdom, not mine. I adore you and recognize you are in control of everything. (1 Chronicles 29:11; 1)

Your ways are higher than my ways. Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-10; Romans 11:33-34)

You are good, loving, and faithful. It’s absolutely impossible for you to do evil or to do wrong. Help me to believe this in the depths of my soul during this time. (Deut. 32:4; Job 34:10; 1 John 1:5; Psalm 86:15; Psalm 100:5)

Thank you, God, for remaining faithful even when I act faithlessly in my pain. Your love, presence, power, and promises are not dependent on my behavior. (2 Timothy 2:13)

You understand my pain. (Isaiah 53:3)

Give us strength because we are flat out weary. Help us run this grueling race with perseverance and never give up.

Help us keep our eyes glued to Jesus, our champion, who perfects our faith. In him, all things hold together. We will depend on him to hold us together no matter what comes. (Colossians 1:17, Hebrews 12:1-3)

Father, I love and adore Lenora. Thank you for entrusting  Lenora to me. It is such a privilege being  Lenora's parent. I humbly ask you to bring complete healing to Lenora and make  Lenora physically whole if that’s your will.

If it isn’t your will for Lenora to heal during her time on earth, I will still love, serve, and follow you.

I know that you are for Lenora, not against Lenora. No illness, disease, disappointment or setback – nothing in all the world – can separate Lenora from your love. (Romans 8:35-39)

I ask you to protect Lenora emotionally and spiritually. Give  Lenora the strength she needs for each moment, each test, each prod, each pill, each surgery. (Luke 11:1-4) With your great love, drive out all  Lenora fear and comfort Lenora. 1 John 4:18

Even though I can’t see it now, I believe that in all things you work for the good of those who love you. No matter what happens, you will bring beauty from the ashes of this time. (Romans 8:28-29; Isaiah 61:3)

I thank you, God, for continuing to work good in me, transforming me into your image, and perfecting me until the day Jesus returns. Use this struggle, Father, for your glory and renown. (Philippians 1:6; 2 Corinthians 3:18)

Thank you for being with Lenora in the fire. There is always hope with you. (Genesis 50:20; 2 Peter 3;9; Isaiah 43:2; Isaiah 61:3)

I submit myself, this situation, and Lenora to you, God – 100%. I trust you with the outcome. I will rely on your strength completely.

I pray these things in the name of Jesus.

Amen.

Any extra funds that may be raised would be used to open an account for medical bills and would  go to help cover any other doctor appointments or medication for the remainder of the year.
