Olympic Year Funding
When I became a professional athlete in 2010 I was ranked 8th in the world and got 3rd at the USA Championships. I since changed countries and starting representing Canada in 2012 with the hope of better financial support. At the Olympic trials in 2012, I got second place, and missed representing Canada at the London Olympics by ONE spot.
After I changed countries and fell one place short of the Olympics, my contract with my primary sponsor was up for renewal and they chose not to continue to endorse me.
For the last year, it has been a struggle with the brunt of my training and travel expenses falling on people who selflesssly believed in my dream...my family, friends, and agent. As I flew through my savings, I was forced to move back to the Buffalo area and live with my sister.
This last year (2015) I started training with the East Hub Toronto Training group. I drove back and forth to Toronto for practice and it still has been one of my best and most consistant years since 2010. I accredit this to being fortunate enough to attend our warm weather training camp in Saint Kitts for four months last winter. I've seen times I haven't seen in years and I'm confidant that they will only get better.
This winter, while most of my family was 6 feet deep in snow, I was racing in the Bahamas at the World Relay Championships. I ran one of the fastest splits on the national 4x400 relay and helped Canada earn an automatic bid to the 2016, Rio Brazil Olympics!
But now it's time to focus on my own event, the 400 hurdles, and I need YOUR help to get me there. Training camp and competition travel is far from free and after years of trying to inspire and help my followers and fans, I'm now asking YOU to help ME!
This will be my last shot at the Olympics. And after missing the previous Olympic team by one place, I know I'm going to need ALL the help I can get!
All donations will go to help me reach my dream and used to cover warm weather training and competition expenses. ANY donation will be greatly appreciated!
