Dear Friends and Family:
When you're faced with a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, you should be able to put all of your energy into getting well. The last thing you need to worry about is how to pay for cancer treatments and related expenses. Our friend, Lorraine Newsome is going through that right now. Soon after the news of her diagnosis, she started weekly chemotherapy treatments. That's when the bills started to pile up. Even with health insurance coverage, the co-pays and other out-of-pocket costs total $1,200 per week.
Through it all, Lorraine has continued to work full time and take care of her family. She and her husband Rick have been married for 27 years and have three sons. Both work hard to make ends meet but they're feeling the financial strain on their family. Lorraine is a fighter and has maintained a positive attitude. We want her to be able to focus solely on getting well.
We're writing today to ask our friends and family to help us help Lorraine so that we can reduce the Newsome family's financial burdens. Many people have asked what they can do and expressed a desire to help the family.
