Justice for Justice

$1,070 of $1,000 goal

UPDATE: Justice has been seen by our amazing vet, Dr. Scott, at Deason Animal Hospital. He snapped at the vet when his stomach was palpated because he's in pain. Even Dr. Scott was surprised with how severe his mange was. You could see the tears coming from Justice's eyes as he was being examined. Poor guy is miserable. Fortunately, he is heart worm (HW) negative, which was a concern because he has a heart murmur (arrhythmia). He has some fluid in his lungs causing mild congestion. He is loaded with hookworms and even had demodex mites in his fecal exam. He is being treated for both sarcoptic and demodetic mange, as well as a yeast infection (the yellow crusting of his skin) and a bacterial infection (open sores). He is showing signs of having a foreign object in his stomach, so the vet is monitoring him closely in the event he needs to do an endoscopy and/or surgery. He has already been bathed with medicated shampoo and started on fluids via IV. He will remain with the vet for at least week and get medicated baths every other day. We are already at $500 for his treatment, but if he needs surgery, we will be looking at $1,000. Justice is safe now that he's with the Wilson County No Kill Animal Shelter. We've been posting updates on the Facebook page for the Wilson County No Kill Animal Shelter, but thought we should post one here as well. Justice is making a fantastic recovery. He has peach fuzz all over his body and some spots where it's getting longer. It looks like his hair is light brown. He doesn't hold still for long, so the picture is a little blurry, but all the light brown patches are hair! He is a spunky little fellow now. His personality is shining and he is so happy. No more suffering. No more itching. No more pain. Thank you to all who helped make Justice's recovery possible through your donations and prayers. We appreciate you and if he could talk, he'd say the same thing.

We went to visit Justice today to see how he's doing after the first 24 hours of treatment. Well, as you can see, he's feeling pretty good. He's wagging his tail and enjoying the attention. Get well little buddy! All your WCNKAS friends are cheering for you! You can show your support for Justice by making his photo your profile picture. (Visit our Facebook page for a short video of Justice!)
