Facility Management Dock - A facility management grassroots organization that aims to foster the education of Facility Management and Real Estate students by connecting practioners and students. Our mission is to support and enrich the future of the facility management industry through social media, technology, conferences, live case studies, and facility life cycle planning competitions. The organization is founded by Pratt Institute Alumni and members of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
This year we are hosting our first conference as a pilot. We are working closely with Pratt Institute's Facility Managment Department and have secured facility space. But would like to plan some great New York City events in addition to the already planned facility tours that we have.
We are seeking funds to help support the costs of the conference to allow students to participate at a minimal or no cost. Any donations will help support our cause would be great.
About the Conference and Competition:
A three day conference is offered to students and professionals. This year's topic is facility life cycle planning of a performing and Cultural Arts Complex. We have various speakers from the industry that will cover topics that will be needed through out the challenge.
It is based on the needs and wants of a local theatre company. The core curriculum of the competition and is based on a case study of a local organization. The required parameters are in direct alignment with the IFMA core competencies and must be fulfilled as part of the final presentation to the judges.
We have various reward levels and are also looking for sponors to advertise or donate:
Logo designer - We are looking for someone to work with us not designer savvy group to design a logo that reflects who / what we are
Working materials - pens, pencils, notebooks, goodie "swag" bags, etc.
"swag bag & contents" - items that can be given away with welcome bag that can have names of the company sponsor and are not necessarily working materials (ex: water bottles, magnets, snacks)
