Brendon's Funeral Fund

Donation protected
Brendon Michael Johns is an 18 year old father, boyfriend, brother, son, grandson, uncle, and friend. On Halloween night, he was attacked in downtown Granite City while Trick-or-Treating with his family, which resulted in frontal head injuries (broken nose, damaged eye socket). Since he was not properly treated (hospital released him without so much as warning signs), his damaged nasal cavity led way for infection to spread to his brain. Brendon was facing the symptoms of a brain infection over the course of a month (vomiting, fever, migraines), but without being aware of it, he merely thought it was a flu virus, and the infection worsened. On Friday December 2nd, Brendon was admitted to Anderson Hospital after he realized that he couldn't move or feel his left leg (the infection was on the right side of his brain, which controls the left side of the body). Anderson then transferred him to SLUH hospital Saturday morning, where he had a seizure and needed resuscitated after his heart stopped beating. Brendon then underwent brain surgery. After many medication and treatment combinations, Brendon was in critical condition. The pressure on his brain was steadily increasing and maintaining dangerous levels, while the oxygen transfer to his brain remained low. Brendon was pronounced brain dead at 1:41pm Saturday December 10th.

Please spare our relatives further questions regarding Brendon's death during this difficult time.

We'd like to thank-you all so much for your support, prayers, and donations.
