Team Lilly Blair,
For those friends and family who aren’t aware of our niece Lilly’s cancer. Here is a brief history. She was originally diagnosed at 11 weeks old with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After spending most of her first year of life in the hospital, she was diagnosed with a secondary Leukemia AML, caused by treating her first cancer. Lilly’s only chance of survival was a bone marrow transplant. She received this perfect match from her six year old brother Lukkes at 18 months old. Sadly, at 5 years of age, she relapsed. After two years of treatment with low dose chemo without being in remission, her doctors have once again told John and Heather another transplant is needed. This time she would receive a cord blood transplant that is not a perfect match and not related. Through this Lilly remains strong and gives us all courage and strength. Our prayer is that God will heal Lilly from this horrendous, evil disease. That she would grow up to minister to others going through similar experiences. Prayer for encouragement for John, Heather, Lukkes, and Issak to remain bold, confident, hopeful, and strong. Their faith is strong and they worship the God who gives and does (healing) even beyond what we ask or imagine. We all know the fight against Leukemia is a tough and lengthy battle…years in Lilly’s case. For all those who have raised funds and given in the past, we are truly amazed and humbled. Our goal is set for $20,000 but of course we aren’t sure how much more these expenses will grow in the coming months. Lilly is expected to be in Seattle for at least 100 days after transplant.
