100%!combat related disabled veteran, father Pawpaw was misdiagnosed by the VA Hospital as having an air bubble on his vocal cords to which there is no treatment. After the pain became so intense he tried to get an appointment to get it rechecked and there were none available for months so on July 31st 2015. His MRI that day revealed him to be in stage 3 throat cancer. which has already progressed to stage 4. He is receiving treatment which includes a total larengectomy to completely remove his voicebox in Richmond VA, 5 hours from our home. We are on a fixed income and did not budget cancer into our expenses. We have made 9 trips to Richmond. We are in desperate need of help traveling. We can not skip or cancel a single appointment, they are all critical at this point. We are now doing without basic necessities and struggling each and everyday. Any help no matter how big or small would mean so much. As anyone that knows him will tell you, he has a gentle spirit and is a genuinely good man. We chose a picture of him with his youngest grandson (who was a premie) because it encompasses who he really is. A gentle yet strong leader in our family and beyond.
