Bring Back The Lights!

To those of you who don’t know who we are or what we do we are a small group of volunteers who put on the Summer Festival and are this year planning on bringing back the Christmas Lights and the Big Switch On! The Lights are extremely popular with local residents and really light up the village over the festive period, the lights are in a poor state and in need of replacing, we have received 2 quotes the cheapest being just under £4,000 (Cost of lights £3,100 and removal of old lights and installation of new lights £800. This is without costs of putting on the nights festivities).The new Icicle lights will be installed on a new system which makes it a lot easier to take down every year and therefore extending the life of the lights.

We have a number of fundraising events happening over the Festive period to help raise the required funds to BRING BACK THE LIGHTS! We’re launching our fundraising campaign page over the next few weeks highlighting the funds we need to raise and also that we receive no financial support from Cardiff Council. The BIG SWITCH ON will be on THURSDAY 6TH DECEMBER. Station Road will be closed between Party Central and The Railway from 6:15 til 8pm, we will have fireworks, live music, face painting, fairground rides and much more!
