This is Chico.  He is only 8 mos old and was abandoned here in Pendleton County, WV, along with his brother Marco in April 2014.  They are playful, happy normal pups who did not deserve to be treated this way but PAWS can help to get these 2 sweet pups saved, vetted and on their way to new Forever Homes.  We take in abandoned dogs and they temporarily stay in foster homes during their time w/ PAWS.  But we often face a dilema...what to do when our foster homes are full??????? We have no shelter building, few residents, most of whom are overburdened w/ pets as it is...what to do?  We dread having to turn away healthy, adoptable pups like these 2!  But, where can they stay temporarily till adopted?
So we turn to a very good and reasonably priced boarding kennel, who walks the dogs 3 times daily and cares for and feeds them well!  Our dogs always leave this kennel looking great and so we know it's the right thing to do.  We are so fortunate to have this option for unwanted and stray dogs and pups!  This kenneling option saved Chico's life, and his brother's life too, due to PAWS intervened when the Pendleton County Sheriff's dept was on the way to pick them up and transport them to a neighboring county pound, where most dogs are euthanized after a 5 day holding period.  But we knew we could count on the kennel to help!  So we got these 2 and they are safe and sound.

YAHOOO, the pups are saved!  No problem?  PROBLEM!  The dogs are doing just great but we have incurred bills of approx $4000.00 in boarding dogs!

PLEASE can you help PAWS continue this life saving work?  We are all volunteers and aren't funded, all our money to pay these bills and the vet bills comes from donations from people like you who care enough about dogs to read this!  Please donate, no amount is too small and please know you will be playing a BIG part in helping to save the lives of Pendleton County dogs!  Just click where directed.  All you will need to do this is your credit or debit card.    THANK YOU from the DOGS!

Trooper and Jake are 2 sweet and friendly dogs who had been chained outside all alone for at least 5 years when they came into PAWS in Oct. 2017. PAWS got them fully vetted and had to place them in boarding due to overcrowding at adoption programs we work with. That meant no place for these 2 dogs to go.

We don’t usually have to board more than 2-4 weeks but Trooper and Jake had to board for 10 weeks prior to being taken in last Saturday. This was because the adoption programs were overflowing with dogs. We love our boarding kennel who gives the homeless dogs the best of care!

We are thrilled to say that Trooper already has an adoption application! I’m sure Jake will be adopted soon, too so we will have 2 very happy endings! Boarding saved these 2 dogs lives!

But 10 weeks of boarding comes to $1800.00 and PAWS needs help with this cost.

If you can click on DONATE and send some money towards the boarding bill, it will enable PAWS to be able to help more dogs needing homes like we helped Trooper and Jake! Thank you and please share this!

PAWS is excited to announce that the 6 kenneled dogs left Weds April 5th to go to an awesome adoption program!
This means that our total bill for boarding 6 dogs @ $12 per dog per day X 7 days = $504.
This is wonderful news for these 6 dogs...if we can get some donations to help cover this cost, then we can pay this boarding bill. Be a part of rescuing these 6 dogs...Pls donate, no amount is too small!
Barry is one of the 6 dogs kenneled and is grateful for the help

On Weds, March 29th, PAWS took in 12 dogs needing new homes. We had places for 6 of them to go, but the remaining 6 had to he kenneled to wait for their turns. This costs PAWS $72 per day for 6 dogs, so the boarding bill is already over $500. If you can donate towards this boarding fee, this will help PAWS to pay this boarding bill and to be available to help other dogs who wind up in the same circumstance. No amount is too small. Here are pics of some of these very sweet dogs. They are all great dogs who will be wonderful pets and are doing very well! Thank you for your help!
These dogs are all small and darling and will also find homes quickly!
