Mike's Cancer treatment Fund

I’m a 57 year old disabled Veteran and I love to ride my Harley. All of 2016 I felt sluggish and always tired, I kind of thought that just came with age. Then the first week of 2017 I became very weak and lost quite a bit of weight. I contacted the VA. Outpatient facility and told the nurse my symptoms, she set up the lab work for the next morning. Later the next day I was called by the VA and told to head to the ER immediately that my liver has shut down. I was admitted to the Audie Murphy VA Hospital. They scheduled me for a MRI. Later that day, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and the MRI revealed a tumor on my Pancreas cutting off my Bile Duct, not allowing my Liver to function. A temp Stent was put into the Bile duct to open it up and allow my liver to function. Pancreatic Cancer is a very Aggressive Cancer and somewhat of a rare Cancer. I was then told I was a candidate for the Whipple procedure. This surgery is very invasive and only 20% of the people diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer are eligible. Surgery was done on 2/17/17 and the procedure had to be aborted and closed up because the tumor was much bigger than the MRI revealed. The tumor was also wrapped around the vessels and I would have died on the operating table or soon after. I was in the hospital for 13 days, I saw my Oncologist a few days later and was told me to get my affaires in order, that my Cancer was a Stage 4, and I only have 6 months to live without any alternative treatments.(what an eye opener that was). I started Chemotherapy this week. Chemotherapy may or may not work, nevertheless I have to give it a try. If Chemotherapy is exhausted, I will pursue / consider other alternative treatments. I have not worked since my operation. I need help so I can concentrate on medical treatment to extend my life with my family and not worry about trying to work (out of town) while going through treatments.
