Hi Everyone
My name is Laura and I am raising money for my dad Martin.
My dad is currently in intensive care in Thailand. He became very ill , very suddenly after developing severe pneumonia. He then became increasingly weak and suffered a stroke.
Martin has been in hospital for nearly a month now, his recovery is slow and at the moment incredibly unclear as to when he will start feeling better or infact be able to breathe for himself.
It is very difficult to have a relative as close as my dad in a hospital in a foreign country . The language barrier has been hard and the cost of hospitals out here is phenominal.
I am raising money to fly my dad back to the UK to be close to friends and family during his recovery.
At the moment although the care has been good the doctor is saying we may be in ICU for months to come. They are unsure of what treatment will come next and hope to give 'Time' a chance to work.
I need my dad back home where both myself, his daughter and his partner Natalyn can have the support of friends and family around us too and my dad can have the care he needs and deserves .
My dad is unable to talk due to being ventilated. His condition is described as critical but stable.
He cannot fly by the usual means of a plane, we need to get him home using an air ambulance . The cost of this is £70,000 - £80,000.
I know this is a huge amount but I hope that we can start to raise money for my dads journey to England.
Any donations towards our cause will be greatly appreciated . This really is a desperately hard time for us and this is our last resort to try and get my dad back to full health.
We miss his laughter and his joking and his general love of life !
