Elsa's Surgery

Donation protected
Elsa is my mom's dog. We rescued her from a shelter in March of 2014. She had missing and broken teeth, which a vet suggested was due to them being pulled so she'd be a more cooperative breeder. But despite whatever history she had before her shelter days, she has been nothing but loving and affectionate with us. She loves nothing more than to sit and lick you (she'd do it for hours if you'd let her, so thankfully she has my 3 year old dog to spoil with kisses when we aren't willing recipients). When she's happy, her whole back end wiggles, not just her tail. We don't know how old she is, but vets guesstimate around 7 or 8 years old now.

The reason we're reaching out for help right now is because a tumor has developed on her back breast. The only way to know if it is cancerous is to perform a biopsy on the tumor, meaning surgery to remove it. At best we learn it is benign. At worst, it is cancer. We want her to be comfortable, but we are also selfish and would not want to say goodbye after such a short time together. We could ignore it, and let time tell us which is which, but if we know now, we can prepare for that day we will part ways.

The surgery will cost a minimum of $1500, and hopefully at the maximum $2000. We are not in the position financially to cover that cost in full in the near future, so we would be forever grateful if you could donate anything to help us.
