Serenity's Medical Bills

I just wanted you to know that Serenity had to be put down on February 14, 2017.

We took her to the ER pet hospital because she had an infected gland. They were going to do surgery on her but discovered a heart murmur. They decided to do blood work and found out that her liver and kidney numbers were not looking good. They didn't continue with the surgery.

We then took her to our regular vet and he said that her liver was enlarged and 2 times bigger than usual and wasn't too concerned about her heart murmur. We made an appointment to have an ultrasound done a week later and started her on liver medication. She was doing fine all week and was playing but not really eating much.

On Tuesday when we got home, she greeted us as usual. At 6 pm, she wasn't herself anymore. She wasn't walking or wagging her tail. I tried giving her some lunch meat and she didn't take it. She whimpered a weird way and couldn't stand up. She tried to go potty but only pooped a little dime size and was bleeding.

We took her to the ER again and her body temperature was low, anemic, her kidney numbers were extremely high. We knew that she was not going to make it through the night. That is when we decided to put her to sleep.

Our other doggie, Domino, understands but she has been sad, too.

The funds will be used to pay off her medical bills and the cremation fees.
