My name is Bernie Hughes and I am a community candidate for Dublin North-West. I'm born and bred in Finglas and have raised my three children here.
Bernie has been involved in politics and activism for more than 30 years. In that time she has been involved in many campaigns. In February 2015 she was jailed for contempt of court as a result of her involvement in the prevention of water meters in the Dublin area. Back in October 2003 Bernie and many others from DNW were jailed for contempt of court as a result of their involvement in the Bin Tax Campaign.
How many other candidates were willing to go to such extents to fight against continuing austerity being inflicted on us?
Running in an election costs a lot of money so I'm asking for your help. I know things are hard and we are still struggling but I would greatly appreciate any donation you can give.
