Please read the complete story from Victor's dad! Let's wrap our arms around our Englewood Family and give them all the support they need. We Stand VICTOR STRONG!
After long nights, early mornings and tons of waiting time we have received an official diagnosis for Baby Vic.
Victor has a form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma, he is in stage 4. This is a rare form of childhood cancer. This cancer is made up of cells that normally develop into skeletal muscles. In Victors case this tumor is sitting in front of his spinal cord and has affected lymph nodes in his neck and abdomen.. Our next steps.. We start Chemo treatment tomorrow, and then radiation will follow in the upcoming weeks. Victors treatment will be a combination of chemo and radiation, Attacking this evil thing full force! So for now Victor will remain in the hospital through the week. We are hoping for a short hospital stay but as we have learned in the past 4 days hospital life is a revolving door of change.
On behalf of our family we want to 1st of thank everyone for the love, support, kind words, and prayers. It was deeply appreciated as the last couple days have been quite the roller coaster.
Please understand that our situation is unique, Victor has double the love, double the parents, double the family, as hard as it was to write this it's even harder for us to process ourselves and to help Victors brothers process as well.
We will update when we can but our primary focus in these next days to come is Victor and what our "new norm" will be as we face this giant that we are battling. This is never a road that we thought we would have to walk down but here we are and we plan to do it as family for our son. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
